EFEKIVITAS KEBIJAKAN PEMERINTAH DALAM PENANGANAN ANAK JALANAN DI KOTA MEDAN(STUDI KASUS ANAK JALANAN DI JLN.WILIAM ISKANDAR SIMPANG AKASARA)

Abstract

Handling street children in the city of Medan is not an easy thing. This study aims to determine the effectiveness or level of success of Medan city government policies in dealing with the problem of street children. The use of Non-Doctrinal Sociological Research methods means that it will use empirical data obtained through interviews and observations. Based on the results of the research that the researchers did, the performance of social services in handling street children in the city of Medan, namely by providing guidance to street children, which focuses on training for the formation of children's skills and skills not only that but also fostering moral education. The Medan city government itself has made efforts to reduce the number of street children by making a Halfway House Policy for street children which is still in the process of being finalized, the name of the halfway house is "Social Protection House". The effectiveness of the policy of the Medan city government in handling street children is considered to be still not optimal, but it has been able to reduce the number of street children in the city of Medan due to several internal and external actors.
