Abstract

The millennial era has had quite a broad impact on various aspects of life, especially the younger generation. Character education based on local wisdom can be a strategy in instilling character values through concrete situations that are close to children's daily lives. Character education based on local wisdom in elementary schools is very important to implement because capable morals will not be formed easily, it requires a long and thorough process. Therefore, these character values must be instilled in elementary school students to facilitate the realization of the main goal of education, namely to form capable morals, in accordance with the character of the nation. This research aims to find character education based on local cultural wisdom in the 4.0 revolution era that can implemented effectively in schools. This research is important because nowadays there is a phenomenon of attitudes and behavior that lacks noble character among students and the younger generation, meanwhile character education in schools has not gone well. The research method used is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. There are three approaches that can be taken in local wisdom-based character education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. First, implementing character education based on local wisdom as a form of national character. The second is to integrate local wisdom-based character education into the subjects. Third, guarding the school culture. Fourth, optimizing extracurricular activities
