Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of essay test instruments in evaluating learning outcomes of 5th-grade students at SDN Kebundadap Timur II, focusing on the science subject "Harmony in Ecosystems." A qualitative approach was employed, involving observations, and analysis of student test results. The findings reveal that most students struggled to grasp the material due to less interactive teaching methods, resulting in low learning outcomes. Essay test instruments effectively measured students' deep understanding, though challenges arose in maintaining evaluation consistency. Improved learning outcomes can be achieved through implementing more engaging and varied teaching methods.
