This research aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing jigsaw type cooperative learning in fifth grade students at SDN Kesek 1. Specifically, this research wants to determine the effect of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes. This article is a type of qualitative research. Qualitative research is a research approach that focuses on in-depth understanding of social, cultural or human behavior phenomena through descriptive and non-numerical data. The data analysis used is thematic analysis, interview method. Based on the results of this research, it was found that the jigsaw type cooperative learning model was less effective when applied to elementary school students, this was due to students' different understanding. The conclusion is that the implementation of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model is less effective for elementary school students, the implementation of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model in grade 5 still faces several challenges, especially related to time constraints, differences in student understanding, and teacher perceptions about the complexity of suitable material. for this model.
