Phonological awareness is an aspect that needs to be considered to develop children's reading abilities, especially at an early age who are prepared in the early stages of the reading process. The author uses a descriptive qualitative approach method. This literature review aims to describe efforts to handle children in reading at the beginning of the phonology section. The results of the literature review obtained show that learning to read from an early age plays an important role in children's growth and development, especially in the early years of elementary school. Phonological awareness and the use of appropriate learning strategies are important elements in the foundation of children's reading comprehension. To overcome the problem of early reading difficulties, a holistic and multifaceted approach must be implemented. This includes learning strategies based on the child's individual needs and abilities, intensive care and support from teachers, and strong support from the home environment. This inclusive and collaborative approach aims to provide all children with equal opportunities to develop their reading skills and enable them to become competent and confident readers.
