Abstract

One of the most important components of education is the curriculum. The Merdeka curriculum prioritizes character education through the Pancasila Learner Profile. One aspect of the Pancasila Learner Profile is critical thinking. This aspect means that students are able to interpret quantitative and qualitative information objectively, establish relationships between different types of information, analyze information, evaluate and draw conclusions. In the era of globalization, critical thinking skills are essential for students to solve problems, face challenges, and make the right decisions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that strategies in improving critical thinking skills in elementary school students include: (1) providing triggering questions, (2) developing literacy, (3) using learning media, and (4) applying group discussion methods. By applying these strategies, it is hoped that students' critical thinking skills can continue to be improved and students can get used to solving problems that will affect the future.
