EFEKTIVITAS SUPERVISI KLINIS DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI GURU PAI SMP/SMA DI KEPULAUAN SULA

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical supervision in improving the competence of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers at junior and senior high school levels in the Sula Islands. Using a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, this research involved 90 PAI teachers. Quantitative data were collected through pre-test and post-test of teacher competence, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews and observations. The results show a significant improvement in teacher competence after the implementation of clinical supervision (t(89) = 11.26, p < .001, d = 1.19). Thematic analysis identified four main themes: enhanced self-reflection, constructive collaboration, contextualization of PAI learning, and implementation challenges. These findings indicate that clinical supervision is effective in improving the competence of PAI teachers in the Sula Islands, but requires adaptation to the local geographical and cultural context. Research implications include the need to strengthen professional development programs for PAI supervisors and utilize technology in supervision in archipelagic areas.
