Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the learning environment on students' motivation to learn English at MtsN 2 Tidore. A qualitative descriptive approach was used to deeply explore the factors of the learning environment that affect students' motivation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document studies. The results show that the learning environment at MtsN 2 Tidore still faces challenges, such as limited learning facilities, a less conducive classroom atmosphere, and minimal support from family and community environments. These conditions lead to low student motivation in learning English. These findings align with the language learning motivation theories proposed by Gardner and Dornyei, and are supported by previous studies showing that a conducive learning environment positively influences English learning motivation. This study concludes that there is a significant influence of the learning environment on students' motivation at MtsN 2 Tidore. Recommendations are provided to improve learning facilities, teaching methods, and support from families and the community to create a more supportive learning environment.
