Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies employed by the principal of MTs Alkhairaat Ternate in improving the welfare of non-civil servant teachers. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was used to gain an in-depth understanding of the implemented strategies. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document studies, and then analyzed using the qualitative data analysis techniques from Miles et al. (2014). The validity of the data was maintained by triangulating data sources and data collection methods. The research findings reveal that the principal implemented planning, organizing, actuating, budgeting, and monitoring strategies to improve the welfare of non-civil servant teachers. In his role as a leader, the principal formulated plans, formed a special team, provided motivation, and established collaborations. As a manager, the principal allocated budgets, sought funding sources, conducted program monitoring and evaluation. Meanwhile, as an administrator, the principal established policies, recorded non-civil servant teacher data, managed financial administration, and guided the administrative staff. The welfare provisions offered included salaries/honoraria, allowances, supporting facilities, training programs, job security guarantees, a conducive work environment, performance appreciation, and good relationships with non-civil servant teachers.
