Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to discuss the importance of religious moderation among Indonesian people in particular in the Northern Maluku Sula Islands with a diverse background of beliefs and religions. In an effort to strengthen the role of Northern Maluku in combating radicalism and extremism, the internalization of religious moderation in the learning process becomes essential. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to deepen the meaning and process. The results show that religious moderation is not taught formally, but is integrated into everyday learning. Factors influencing the spirit of religious moderation of MTS.S Darul Ulum Sasa students include modern thinking and active involvement in activities. Students practice moderation by advising each other, creating care among classmates.
