Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of the Fiqih teacher at MAN 1 Halmahera Tengah in relation to how students perform congregational prayers. The research findings indicate that the Fiqih teacher has successfully positioned themselves as an effective educator and role model for their students. The Fiqih teacher conducts Fiqih lessons in the classroom and accompanies students during congregational prayers. This approach involves strategies such as habit formation, specialized guidance, and punishment or sanctions, aligning with Mulyasa's concept of learning. Although sanctions or penalties have not been implemented, the role of the Fiqih teacher and these strategies aim to encourage students to actively participate in school activities, especially congregational prayers. These strategies also support the goal of MAN 1 Halmahera Tengah to create an Islamic and environmentally conscious generation. These findings align with previous research by Lalu Ahmad Ramli, who found that the role and strategies of the Fiqih teacher help students participate more frequently in congregational prayers. In conclusion, the Fiqih teachers at MAN 1 Halmahera Tengah have effectively fulfilled their roles as educators and role models, utilizing strategies to encourage students to participate more frequently in congregational prayers. These efforts align with the school's goal of producing an Islamic and environmentally-friendly generation, even though sanctions have not been implemented.
