This research investigates the relationship between student perceptions of teacher severity (variable X) and student learning outcomes ( variable Y) in a secondary school. The data was obtained from 15 students who categorized the teacher's severity as high, medium, low, or very high, and the student's learning outcomes were measured as high or not high. The results of the study showed great variations in students' perceptions of their teacher's rigour, with most students believing that their teachers were very careful. However, there is no clear cause-and-effect relationship between the perception of teacher rigour and student learning outcomes. Although there are students who feel that their teachers are very careful and have a high learning outcome, there are also students who think otherwise. The findings highlight the complexity of the factors that affect students' perceptions and learning outcomes, and suggest that teacher rigour is not the only factor that affects students' learning outputs. Further research is needed with a deeper approach and control of other variables to better understand the factors that influence the relationship between teacher rigour and student learning outcomes.
