Abstract

A differentiated learning strategy is learning that gives students the freedom to increase their potential in accordance with their learning readiness, interests and learning profile. The learning process and outcomes for students can also provide a level of effectiveness in learning. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of differentiation learning strategies on student learning outcomes in grade IV science subjects at SD Muhammadiyah Bayan. The research design used in this research is a quasi-experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. This research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah Bayan (Jono) Elementary School, Bayan District, Purworejo Regency. The population referred to in this research is class IV students in the even semester of SD Muhammadiyah Bayan for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 38 students. This sample was used with the consideration that as a control class and an experimental class for class IV at SD Muhammadiyah Bayan were used as test classes for research test instruments. Based on hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample Test type T, the results of hypothesis testing show that there are student learning outcomes in science learning through different learning strategies compared to conventional learning methods. Student learning outcomes in science subjects in the differentiation learning strategy are better than conventional methods. The results of the research above show that an effective differentiation learning strategy can improve learning outcomes in science subjects in class IV of SD Muhammadiyah Bayan. In this way, it is hoped that teachers will be able to apply different learning strategies in classroom learning in order to obtain learning outcomes and student activity and improve the quality of classroom learning.
