PENGGUNAAN MEDIA CERITA BERGAMBAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA NYARING DALAM MUATAN BAHASA INDONESIA TEMA 2 SISWA KELAS 2 SDN MAJUNGAN 1 PADEMAWU PAMEKASAN
Abstract
Picture story media is a book that narrates a story using illustrations. At Majungan Pademawu Elementary School, there are students in grade II who struggle with spelling while reading and some find it challenging to differentiate between letters. This hampers their reading progress in subsequent classes. To address this issue, Picture Story Media is used as a learning aid. The objective of this study is to gauge the improvement in students' reading aloud abilities using picture story media and to assess their reading skills after using this medium. This research follows a Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach and employs data collection tools such as teacher observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and reading tests. The findings revealed that the teacher's activity was 56.25% in the good category during the first cycle, which increased to 93.75% in the very good category during the second cycle. The students' activity levels also improved, with 60% being in the good category in the first cycle and 80% in the very good category in the second cycle. Additionally, the results of the reading test indicate that while 63% of students scored in the adequate category during the first cycle, 89% of students scored in the very good category during the second cycle.
