UPAYA MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MATERI PENGUKURAN BERAT MELALUI MODEL REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (RME) PADA SISWA KELAS II SDN KARANG ANYAR 1

Abstract

This research was carried out because problems arose regarding the low level of students' understanding of the material for measuring the weight of mathematics. This results in low student learning outcomes due to lack of understanding of the material. So the purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of Class II students at SDN Karang Anyar 1 in the subject of weight measurement using the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model. This type of research is classroom action research using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were all Class II students at SDN Karang Anyar 1 Bangkalan Regency in semester II of the 2022/2023 school year with a total of 24 students consisting of 14 male students and 10 female students. Techniques for collecting data used were interviews, observation, and giving tests. Researchers analyzed the data obtained from the closing test questions of learning activities using descriptive statistical data analysis techniques for data analysis techniques. The results showed that there was an increase in the percentage of successful learning outcomes in cycle I by 63% increasing to 88% in cycle II. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model succeeded in increasing students' understanding of weight measurement material.
