Abstract

The independent learning curriculum is designed as a refinement of the previous curriculum with a more active and flexible learning approach and freeing teachers and students to carry out the learning process based on religious values, Pancasila and national culture. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the independent curriculum in learning Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 1 Bendosari. This research method uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used include data analysis, data reduction, data presentation, then making conclusions. The results of this research show how the implementation of the independent curriculum in Islamic Religious Education learning is able to run well and is able to increase student creativity. However, there are several challenges faced when learning takes place, namely a lack of teacher readiness and a lack of media and facilities that support learning. So there is a need for training for teachers so that they can implement this independent curriculum in PAI learning so that it is effective and relevant to current developments.
