KONSEP PEMIKIRAN MOHAMMAD NATSIR TERHADAP PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

Mohammad Natsir is one of the important figures in the discourse of thought and the da'wah movement in Indonesia. He was a statesman and a historical actor of the modern Indonesian state. Apart from being a thinker, he was also a politician. Mohammad Natsir as a low profile figure has led the Islamic Political Party (PII) and Masyumi. As a statesman, he was once prime minister in the Soekarno era. His last activity was struggling in the field of da'wah. Mohammad Natsir was also a pioneer in the establishment of the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Council (DDII) organization. He also became a bridge for extensive relations with the international Islamic world. Mohammad Natsir is also known as a person who has a critical nature and openness of thinking, with the original word of his thinking not freedom of thought or liberalization of thinking. Mohammad Natsir's thinking was motivated by his teachers and polemics over religious and national issues. According to Natsir, nationalism is a tool to get closer to God, in addition to unifying the Islamic world. Therefore, Natsir rejected Western nationalism which was filled with the spirit of racism and imperalism. This research uses qualitative research with the type of Library Research. With documentation data collection techniques, namely extracting heirloom materials that are cohesive with the intended object of discussion. While the data analysis used uses descriptive analysis to produce findings on the concept of education according to Mohammad Natsir.
