Abstract

This research aims to develop and implement innovative Arabic language learning strategies to improve students' writing skills at MTsN 1 Kepulauan Sula. Using a classroom action research method, this study was conducted in two cycles with a total of 30 eighth-grade students as research subjects. The innovative strategies applied include project-based learning, cooperative learning, digital technology integration, and the writing process approach. Data were collected through writing tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results show a significant improvement in students' writing ability, with an average score increase of 28% from pre-test to the end of cycle II. The percentage of learning mastery also increased from 60% in cycle I to 83% in cycle II. Additionally, there was an increase in student motivation and active participation in learning, with 85% of students showing active engagement in cycle II. The main challenges faced include time management and differences in student abilities, which were addressed through more thorough planning and intensive scaffolding application. This study concludes that innovative learning strategies are effective in improving students' Arabic writing skills and provide important implications for developing Arabic language learning at the madrasah tsanawiyah level.
