Abstract

This study examines the application of interactive media in Natural Science (IPA) learning at MTsN 1 Kepulauan Sula, a school located in a remote area of Indonesia. The research aims to enhance student active participation and learning outcomes through the use of interactive media. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) method was implemented in two cycles. Cycle I results showed an increase in student participation from 30% to 55% and an average test score improvement from 65.3 to 72.8. Cycle I reflections identified challenges such as difficulties with tablet usage and the need for better integration of group discussions. Cycle II, with adjustments based on these reflections, demonstrated an increase in student participation to 75% and an average test score reaching 78.5. Student response surveys indicated improved satisfaction, with 90% of students feeling that interactive media aided their understanding of IPA concepts. The study concludes that interactive media is effective in improving the quality of IPA learning in remote areas, with visible benefits in increased student participation, learning outcomes, and satisfaction. The implementation of interactive media also highlights the importance of integrating technology in education in areas with limited access.
