Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of experimental methods in science education at MTsN 1 Kepulauan Sula and its impact on students' analytical abilities. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, the study involved two cycles of actions that included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Results from the first cycle indicated that students struggled with following experimental procedures, while the second cycle improved the effectiveness of the experimental method by adding time for explanations and additional practice sessions. Significant improvements in student engagement and analytical skills were observed in the second cycle. This study identifies that experimental methods can enhance students' understanding and analytical skills but require adequate laboratory facilities and teacher training support. Recommendations include improving facilities, providing better equipment, and offering intensive teacher training. The findings support the integration of experimental methods into the science curriculum and offer insights into overcoming challenges in resource-limited educational contexts.
