This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties of ninth-grade students in practical science (IPA) lessons at MTs Negeri 1 Kepulauan Sula. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs interviews, observations, and document analysis to identify and evaluate the various challenges faced by students during practical activities. The findings indicate that students encounter significant difficulties, such as insufficient understanding of basic IPA concepts, limited science process skills, minimal practical experience, and inadequate practical facilities. These factors hinder the effectiveness of practical learning and impact students' grasp of IPA concepts. Additionally, guidance and support from teachers are also deemed suboptimal, further complicating students' participation in practical activities. The study recommends improvements in infrastructure, enhancement of practical facilities, and intensive training and guidance for teachers to address learning difficulties and improve the quality of practical IPA education. These findings are expected to provide insights for developing more effective teaching strategies within the MTs educational environment.
