Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in Economics teaching in the 10th grade at MAN 1 Ternate and to identify the challenges faced in its implementation. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with Economics teachers, direct classroom observations, and analysis of related documents. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka has positively impacted teaching methods, enhancing student engagement and understanding, and promoting critical thinking skills. However, the study also identified several challenges, including teacher readiness and competence, student adaptation to the new approach, and technological resource limitations. The recommendations proposed include continuous professional development for teachers, improved technological accessibility, the development of a more adaptive curriculum, and ongoing formative evaluation. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for proper support and adjustments to maximize the potential of the Kurikulum Merdeka in improving the quality of education at MAN 1 Ternate.
