This writing aims to determine the biographical background of the philosopher Ibn Rushd, Islamic thought about education, examine Ibn Rushd's contribution to the world of education, as well as discuss and study further the relevance of his thoughts and contributions to education in this modern era. The results of this research show that Ibn Rushd is very famous in Islamic philosophical circles and not only had a great influence on Islamic thought, philosophy, religious thought and the scientific field, but also on freedom of thought in the development that they are connected to. Ibn Rushd's education is consistent and can still be used today to trace the development of modern education today.
