PENGARUH DRAMA KOREA TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR BAHASA KOREA MAHASISWA

Current technological developments have an influence on students. It is undeniable that there are also many ways for students to study online, especially their interest in learning foreign languages. Korean drama is one of the factors in students' interest in learning foreign languages, because in Korean dramas we can find something we have never known before. In terms of speech intonation, culture, and so forth. Korean drama is a program that is currently available on television and streaming platforms, such as Netflix, Viu, iQIYI, WeTV, Viki, and Vidio. The population in the study were students of the Communication Science Study Program, Mercu Buana University, Yogyakarta, class of 2022, with a total of 266 students, while the sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. so that a sample of 74 students was obtained. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire on the influence of Korean dramas on interest in learning Korean. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS Version 20 software. The results showed that there was a fairly strong positive correlation between watching Korean dramas and an interest in learning Korean. Furthermore, there is an influence of 43.8% between watching Korean dramas on interest in learning Korean. So that the other 56.2% is influenced by other variables not examined. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test showed that there were differences in watching Korean dramas on the interest in learning Korean between male and female students. Where female students watch Korean dramas more often than male students.
